From 2006 - 2012, I worked at a bronze foundry in San Diego California producing tabletop to monumental sized bronze statues.  I became proficient in every step of the lost wax process including flexible rubber mold making, wax pattern creation, ceramic shell investment, bronze pouring, metal chasing, and patina application.

I was a lead team member in a group of three who made this statue of a baby gray whale for Kellogg Park in La Jolla California.  This statue is giant, measuring almost 20 feet long and made up of almost 60parts that have been welded together in a seamless fashion.  It took a year to make from start to finish.
